Title: Creating a Minor Political Party
Description:

During this project, students will work in groups of 3-5 to decide upon the name and policy platform for an original political party, design an original party logo/insignia, create an original informative poster/brochure describing their party's policy positions, research current policy positions on major campaign issues held by other political parties, decide collaboratively which issues to include in their platform, and present their party to the classroom in a 10-15 minute presentation, in which they share their party's policy positions and make a persuasive appeal.

After hearing the presentations, students select which party most accomplished its goal of persuading voters in an informal mock election.

Title: Compute Estimate of Electrical Floor Plan
Description:

Students will read an electrical floor plan (blueprint) and prepare an estimate for the electrical installation to be done on a two bedroom dwelling.

Title: Reducing Residential Electric Power Consumption
Description:

This project is about gaining an understanding of electric power consumption in the home, the ways that power is used for beneficial purposes, how power gets wasted, and how the residents can reduce consumption by changing their behavior.

Title: Children of the Holocaust Memorial
Description:

Students will select a child victimized by the Holocaust, research, utilize the information learned, and design a three-dimensional memorial.  The memorial will honor the life and struggles of the child selected.  Students will also select an individual assignment to complete from the options given in the project specifics.

At the completion of this project the students will produce a three-dimensional memorial as a group.  This memorial will incorporate at least 2 different geometrical shapes, at least 3 different colors, and at least 3 different symbols or objects.  Student groups will also include a paragraph describing the memorial and the meanings behind the shapes, colors, symbols, and objects used.  Finally, students will produce one of five individual projects.

Title: Transition Project
Description:

This project is intended to allow students to discover resources and options about their future after high school. Some students may enter into Job Corps, attain vocational training, or begin a job. Students need to become informed of their options and begin to decide what they would like to do after high school.

Title: Fantasy Genre Written, Illustrated & Published Book
Description:

This is a project that has students working individually on writing and illustrating a book.  They will work in groups to edit, critique artwork, and organize the final projects.

Title: Integrating Language Arts and Performing Arts
Description:

This project will benefit middle aged students who have an interest in Performing Arts, particularly Drama and Creative Writing.  The plan includes a link to the Rubrics referred to in the Unit Plan.  They are aligend with Common Core Standards and range from group assessment to self-assessment.  Finally, the project includes a lesson plan template that, once uploaded, can be revised to specific needs.

Title: They Answered the Call
Description:

The focus of this project is to research and build a display for the school that tells the story of veteran alumni and what the school/community was like when they attended.

Title: Media: Student Business Exhibition
Description:

Project Overview
The goal for this project is for students to appropriately identify best places and media platform to promote a youth business exhibition.


Project Outcomes

Students calculate the cost of media and present an investment positive media plan.
